Three young producers from Curie Youth Radio explore Chicago's Southwest Side.
In My Girlfriend Stephanie, a youth producer walks us down 51st Street, past Los Amigos, past the Chula Vista Lounge, and finally, to the tall apartment building around the corner: where Stephanie is.
In the Jumps, Carly explains how life in the city is never quiet; in her neighborhood, she finds peace watching the motorcycles race and takes listeners to a place tucked behind the city streets where racing meets contemplation.
In Dodging Violence, Edward catches two buses and walks three blocks to get home, and every day he contemplates the gangbangers who eye him from passing cars. He asks: What's it like to question your safety and yourself every day on your way home? What's it like to feel like a coward just for walking home?
