Almost 50 million people in the US live in households where a language other than English is spoken. Often it’s the children in these homes who learn English most quickly…and are set to the task of translating day-to-day life for the rest of the family. Adults who study this issue often have conflicting views about whether and when children should be put in that position. But Youth Voices reporter Carlos Guzman wanted to find out what the kids had to say about it.
